Duties: Develop, document, and maintain logical and physical data models for a multi-phase development project. Analyze enterprise and application logical and physical data models and associated business rules. Develop data migration strategies for retiring legacy systems into modern information systems. Analyze and design data sizing and scaling approaches, distribution alternatives, and trade-offs. Coordinate across organizations as required to support data integration efforts. Support and apply data standardization policies. Support related modeling and simulation activities. Work with DBA and other staff as necessary, to instantiate physical databases based on the models.Assess and implement new technologies as directed. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Capacity planning. Provide technical assistance to IT Solution Delivery Project Teams with minimal guidance. Architect and design database solutions along with Solutions team for new Business requirements/functionalities. Monitor RDBMS performance for Production database platforms and operating environments with minimal guidance. Provide Database Object and application tuning recommendations. Work with RDBMS utilities to provide services such as table load/unload, reorganizations, backup/recovery, etc. Works with application developers to execute performance benchmarks of production SQL. Assist in the enforcement of standards for all databases. Assist in the research, selection, and implementation of RDBMS specific utilities.
